Reminder: Art Demo With Judy Klement THIS SATURDAY!

Judy Klement, award winning, international artist will create an ‘Acrylic Painting’ demonstration for the Camarillo Art Center on Saturday Sept. 10th at 4 pm. (corner Ponderosa and Eston Sts.) Audience will choose subject. Members of the CAC enter free, Nonmembers $7.

Originally from the East Coast, Judy loves California for her home and studio. Proficient in all mediums, Klement has over 13 years teaching experience in Ventura county. You can see her expanded bio on www.judyklement.com. Judy guarantees satisfaction with her custom art commissions. A signature member of Pastel Society of the Gold Coast, CAC, on the board of Santa Paula Society of the Arts and other art clubs keep Klement quite busy. Her oil “Statue at Battery Park” is in the permanent US Coast Guard Art collection….(as Judith Aymar).

**PS: FYI, Judy Klement will do a Talk and a Pastel Portrait demonstration at the Santa Paula Art Museum on 10th Street in S.P. on Thursday Sept. 8th at 3 pm. In the Aug. issue of Southwest Art magazine, Klement is one of ‘Women Artists in America’ on page 121.

The RSVP date is being briefly extended after a few members expressed last minute interest. The annual board elections will be held at the dinner – it’s a pivotal time for the Camarillo Art Center, you won’t want to miss out on all the great things that have and will continue to be happening!

Special Exhibit Coming to the Camarillo Art Center Saturday, July 23rd

We have secured a special exhibit to be on display during our annual membership dinner: Cuba Photo Exhibit with artist Beva Lopez.

Come by sometime during regular gallery hours, her reception, or sign up for our annual dinner to get a better look at the artist’s work.

There is still time to sing up for the Camarillo Art Center’s Annual Dinner – Fiesta Summer Night! RSVPs must be in no later than July 20th! There will be a special exhibit running, Cuban Photo Exhibit by Beva Lopez. Plus a taco bar, live music, and…a presentation on the last year at the CAC and our annual elections of the board members.

 

One more note …a little bit ago, we sent out a request for donations to be made to the Meadowlark Foundation, which supports the CAC every year by leaps and bounds. If you haven’t looked at that newsletter update, please click over to take a look and consider giving a donation.

Come to Jackson Pollock Day at the Camarillo Art Center July 16th

It’s Jackson Pollock Day at the Camarillo Art Center!
During the day we will have children’s sessions starting promptly at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 (the sessions are the same repeated, come for one or come for more, just please come on the hour). Children will learn about Jackson Pollock while getting messy with some paints. These sessions are free and open to the public. No registration required.

Then, in the evening, we will have a special Recreating the Masters class from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, working in different techniques to recreate our own Pollock-inspired piece. This session is for ages 15+ and will cost $25 per person (supplies and light refreshments provided). You must register for this class before Friday, July 15th by contacting the teacher at hchristenas@gmail.com.

It’s time for our fun, summer, All Member Arts and Crafts show! No entry fee. No minimum, no maximum, no guidelines – just bring stuff!!

Drop off July 2nd from 9 am – 11 am

Pick up MUST being done during gallery hours on July 17 (we have to clear the gallery for our special exhibit incoming that week)
